What is the world without the woman?(I know right?) But why is it that the world gives woman so little credit than what she truly deserves?
Look at men today. The usual gentleman is nowhere to be seen. There are still some, like a guy who offers to give up his seat for you in public transportation but more often than not, men today are no longer like this. They are still essentially gentlemen in the things that truly matter but the simple acts of kindness that mark a true gentleman are slowly disappearing.
It’s partly our fault, my fellow women. In the early days, women stayed at home. All they ever did then was sew, cook and do the chores. And bear children. They didn’t have rights for education. Look at the modern woman. She is very much different, no? We asked for this. We asked to be provided the rights we deserve.
Some men might say, “You asked for equal rights. We gave it to you. Now, you want us to act like complete gentlemen, like nothing happened.” Maybe, they are right. From that viewpoint, we brought this fate upon ourselves. During the DSPC 2012, some guys didn’t give up their seats for us and we had to find ourselves other seats. I told my friend Joan, “I’ll take this rather than lack of education.” She agreed.
I want to end this post by sharing a quote I’d read:
“Woman was not taken from man’s head to be ruled by him, nor from under his feet to be trampled upon. But from his side to walk beside him, from under his arm to be protected by him, and from near his heart to be loved by him.”
